Pros:It was in a convienient location- easy access for shopping and walking distance to the beach.
Cons:The building was not very clean and under construction. Very loud during the day - horrible for a weary traveler. The building was not very secure and we worried about our belongs when we stepped out to eat. My advice- spend the extra money on another place. Good place to stay with the bros- not as a couple.

9.1 Wonderful
Pros:It was a great hotel for the price. We had a kitchenette equipped with some cooking utensils. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and patient. It was right by a huge Walmart type store surrounded by restaurants and stores. We felt very safe the whole time and it was a great place to get a local feel.
Cons:The only downside was a leaky faucet or two and one of the Windows didn't lock. The beds were also not the most comfortable, but for the price, still not bad.

8.2 Very Good
Pros:Our flight arrived in the evening so we didn't want to pay for a night at the all-inclusive resort when all we would do is sleep that first night, so we chose the Santa Maria. The hotel was close to a bus stop from the airport and right across the street from a Mega supercenter. Rooms were large and comfortable and we used the kitchen for a late supper and breakfast the next morning before we moved to the all-inclusive resort. If you don't mind the lack of an ocean view, the Santa Maria would be fine for a longer stay.
Cons:Our suite was on the third floor and there was no elevator so we had to carry our bags up the stairs. There was also a small puddle of water under the refrigerator but it was quickly cleaned up after a call to the front desk.
