Traveled for a work trip, along with a colleague in a separate room. I love traveling and I am not a luxury hound by any means - I just appreciate comfort and convenience. Immediately after checking into the room, my service dog found an old candy that he started choking on - and I wish i could say things got better once I finagled it out of his mouth, but as the night went on, I realized the A/C totally wasn’t working. It was in the 80s during my trip and I felt so ill that I couldn’t work in my room. I notified the front desk four times and, although I was told it would be worked on and I could switch rooms if it didn’t get fixed, nobody ever offered a switch or came in person to connect with me. They didn’t even call - just texted to ask how I was doing and then basically ignored my plea for help. I had to sleep with the window open and get up several times a night to take cold showers because my room was unbearable. After that first night- I thought maybe I’d wear myself out in the gym but the one bike has a broken pedal and the gym is as poorly ventilated as my room, alas. I genuinely felt that the staff did not care, which is the first time I’ve ever had a negative experience at a Doubletree hotel. When I asked my colleague how they were enjoying their stay, they told me they found a dead roach, a live spider, and a bunch of gross hair that had been left by a past guest, so Al thought their A/C did work the cleaning issues seemed consistent. The restaurant, bar, and spa were all closed when we arrived so there was no respite from our crummy rooms. I would’ve preferred commuting from Oakland both days to staying in this miserable hotel. Recommend you skip, unless you’re seeking a sweat lodge experience with zero hospitality.

Front desk staff was accommodating. Liked the check in cookie. Facilities recently renovated but workmanship sketchy. No housekeeping even with several requests. Coffee shop had no coffee. Highway noise was loud and constant. There are likely better places to stay with better accommodations and value.

When I went to the front desk to ask for a toothbrush or toothpaste, I was told to walk across the street to buy my own. The front staff who was not at all helpful. This is the first hotel that I attend, where nothing was given for travelers I forgot items, I think my trip was not pleasant because of the way I interacted with the front staff. He was passive aggressive. I will not stay there again or another type of hotel with the similar name. The hotel room was expensive for just one night and to not receive toothpaste at minimum was stupid and aggravating.

Cons:We didn't even stay there because they screwed up and told us we ere booked and then tried to offer us a different hotel that wasn't even close to quality of hiltons. How do you go from a double tree to a la Quinta? Hard to rate a stay when you didn't even stay. Not sure exactly if kayak dropped the ball or Hilton, but it was frustrating
