Pros:Hong and his family might be the nicest people I've met in Vietnam. There is a whole range of people who come to stay in his hotel and everyone seems to love it. You'll be right in the middle of the Old Quarter, 5 minutes walk away from bars, restaurants, silks and clothing markets. The rooms are clean and spacious. But really the reason I'd stay here again if (when!) I come back is the really nice treatment I got from the staff. Definitely worth the extra couple bucks from a backpacker's hostel.
Cons:The showers lacked a shower curtain, though it wasn't so much a problem for me as much as I felt bad getting the bathroom covered in water. In addition for those who haven't been to Hanoi before there is a daily morning reverie that gets blared throughout the city. Hong's hotel is near one of the speakers. But it's not bad if you're jet-lagged and need help waking up to make that tour bus though!
