Azerbaijan drives on the right and overtakes on the left. This means that vehicles from the right, as well as emergency vehicles, have a right of passage. Car rental companies in Azerbaijan only permit renters aged 24 years or older. In addition, you must bear a valid driving license which you must have at least one year before the date of renting the car. Depending on the car rental agency, young driver fees may apply for clients under 25. Its import to note that the person renting the car should be the one driving and not a third party.

Observe a speed limit of 60 km/h (37 mph) in residential neighborhoods and a maximum of 110 km/h (68 mph) on highways. On regular roads, the speed limit is 90 km/h (56 mph), the same as on roads with two lanes in one direction.
