Can’t make it to Japan? Rather take a trip in Europe or North America or Europe instead? No worries, the cherry blossom festival is still within reach!
Japan may get most of the attention, but it is definitely not the only place where you can see cherry blossoms. Cherry trees are grown all around the world, and some other countries even have festivities planned around the yearly bloom, just like those of Japan.
As Korea’s best nature preserve, Jeju is a wonderful place to view the cherry tree in bloom, particularly those of the endemic King Cherry Tree, a species known for having the largest cherry blossom petals. The entire island is a tropical wonderland, but if cherry trees are what you’re after, check out central Seogwipo and the Jeju Sports Complex for a plethora of pink.
