5 tricks to help you find the perfect hotel with KAYAK Malaysia

Try following these 5 steps. Finding your ideal hotel has never been easier.

1. Use the hotel filters to your best advantage

Narrow down your hotel search results in a specific city by using KAYAK’s fabulous filters. Which amenities are most important to you when staying at a hotel? Looking for free breakfast, an integrated pool, or a fitness centre? What about the ambience? Should the hotel be suitable for families or are you searching for a romantic getaway? KAYAK even lets you filter for property types such as hostels, motels, resorts, B&Bs and much more. Try using our filters now and find the hotel you are looking for.

Additional tip: You can choose to run a single filter by hovering your mouse over your chosen filter and selecting ‘only’.

2. Use the map view to narrow down on location choices

The neighbourhood your hotel is located in is often as important as the hotel itself. If you’d like to stay close to the sights or be surrounded by the vibrant nightlife of the city – use KAYAK’s ‘map view’ feature during your hotel search to find the perfect spot in which to stay. Simply select your filter and look for hotels in the most colour saturated areas.

Additional tip: The map feature also comes in handy if you want to avoid crowded and noisy areas. Just select ‘Nightlife’ and choose a hotel which is away from the saturated areas.

3. Read the hotel reviews before you make a decision

Are hotel stars not something you pay attention to when choosing your hotel? Click on the hotel you are interested in and find a comprehensive review list – a handy box which shows you overall guest ratings as well as a breakdown of ratings for specific hotel details. For those of you who want more personalised information, you can also read through the millions of verified hotel reviews available from people who’ve stayed in the hotel.

Additional tip: KAYAK doesn’t want to sell you anything which is why we don’t hide negative hotel reviews. We let you see them all, positive, negative and neutral, so that you can make the best decision for you.

4. Create a hotel Price Alert

Do you want to know when the price for a particularly amazing 5-star resort drops? Create a Price Alert for any hotel and get an email notification when the hotel rates change. Want to know when the hotel rates in the city of Chicago fall? You can even create a Price Alert for cities and landmarks. Plus, you get to choose between daily or weekly email notifications.

Additional tip: Price Alerts are available for flights as well.

5. Save on Private Deals

Save up to 35%: As a registered KAYAK user you have access to Private Deals from our hotel providers. Registering only takes you 30 seconds and is free.

Additional tip: As a registered user you can get even more out of your travel planning with KAYAK Trips. Stay tuned to find out more details next time.
