Pros. I really enjoyed it here and can recommend it, although I think my partner felt that it could have been nicer (I'm the one that chose the place, so...) The courtyard and pool are lovely, the room was adequate (we took the cheapest our money could get). Once we figured out to leave a couple bucks for the cleaning staff each day, we got more complex "towel art" (as in the swan-turkeys). It was mostly quiet aside from families with kids that splashed in the pool, but this wasn't excessive or very obnoxious.
Cons. As terrible as it sounds, and it didn't bother me that much for some reason: our room smelled like pee on more than one occasion (no tp allowed in the toilets, so this may have contributed to that--it's like that everywhere down there, so don't be surprised). We didn't have windows aside from the shutters on the doors; it might have been nice to have at least one to open (rooms are air conditioned, and maybe no windows keeps the heat down). The breakfast served is nothing fancy and didn't vary day to day, but I didn't really expect much more than that.
Pros. Unique atmosphere, beautiful courtyard with trees and flowering plants, Quiet rooms, showers that give you a deluge of hot water straight down. Staff are wonderful, flat screen TV's. Four block walk to a beautiful beach.Good value.
Cons. Internet is like 1999. OK for email, don't expect to stream HBO go. Pool is small but nice to take a dip in after a hot day.
Pros. Kind staff, and wonderful estate!
